First Paragon Run in 2013 – January 18, 2013

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

Welcome to 2013 and with it the next step in your running awesomeness!! This week there will not be a workout per se, but simply a nice run with the group so we can all get reacquainted, catch up with our fellow Paragoner and start looking at New Year’s running plans!  I know the NYC Half-Marathon lottery just happened and people are starting to gear up, so I will keep that in mind as we continue on in the early stages of this new season.

Really looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night.

Paragoners,

I just wanted to send an email out since I will be doing more form and mechanics work this weekend for those that are interested.  This is NOT a regular Paragon run, just one that I am doing with some of the members of my Team focusing on the stuff we worked on last weekend and applying it to a bit more running.

If you’re interested in coming out just give me a shout.  We’ll be at Tavern on the Green at 10am on Saturday.

See you guys Tuesday.

Paragon Sports Saturday Runs — 12/01/12

Paragoners,

How’s everyone doing? As I mentioned earlier this week I am going to be doing a Form & Mechanics training this weekend and as it appears the weather should be pretty nice on Saturday so it will be then.  I also want people to be able to race on Sunday since there is a race in the Park.  Anyway, the training is going to be at 10am on Saturday and we will meet by the Statue at 72nd & Riverside (before we go down into the Park to the dirt track).

Feel free to bring a bag with you as everything will be confined to a small area and we will be right there with them, so there shouldn’t be any issues.

Please RSVP and let me know if you’re going to come out!  Enjoy the rest of your week.

~ josh

Time: 10:00 am

Meeting Place: Statue at entrance to Riverside Park @ 72nd & Riverside Drive

Paragon Tuesday Runs — 11/27/2012

Paragoners,

How did everyone’s Turkey Trotting go? Fill us in!! I’d love to hear how all your races went.  This week we are going to try and work off some of the turkey and pie, stepping things up from last week a bit.  This week we are going to extend and build upon last week’s interval workout altering our intervals from 30-seconds of progression to 200m worth w/90-seconds of recovery where we allow our legs to cycle down on their own.  We want to continue to focus on form and mechanics as we continue to work on our efficiency.

Furthermore, I’ll likely be holding a “clinic” to go over some plyometric drills that should help.  Please let me know this week if you are interested in coming.

Tuesday Night Run — 11/20/2012

Paragoners,

Happy Thanksgiving week everyone!!! What a weekend for those doing the Philly Marathon.  Couldn’t have asked for better weather.  I know many of you are going to be doing your local turkey trot, so this week we are going to get you on point with a QUICK, speedy workout that should have you primed and ready.  So, this week we’re going to be doing 30s, 30 sets of 30-sec progression sprints with 30-sec walking recoveries.  These progressive sprints will start from walking and work up to threshold speed and then your recovery will be a short, quick walk.  This workout is all about getting your heart rate up and your fast twitch muscles firing.  It’s gonna be sweet!!!!
